FAQ
Questions worth asking
Honest answers to the questions I hear most often from small business owners. If yours isn't here, just ask.
About AI
Yes — and in many ways, small businesses benefit more quickly than large ones. You have less bureaucracy, faster decision-making, and the ability to implement changes across the whole business in days rather than months. Most of the AI tools I work with are designed for individual users and small teams, and many are free or low-cost. The question isn't whether AI is relevant — it's which parts of your business to start with.
This is the most common concern I hear, and it's almost always unfounded. The AI tools I teach don't require any technical knowledge — if your team can use email and Google, they can use these tools. My workshops are designed specifically for non-technical people. I've worked with teams where the average age was 50+, where staff had previously refused to use new software, and within a day they were using AI tools independently and confidently.
About the process
It depends on the service. Workshop clients typically see their team using AI tools the following morning — we're talking practical, immediate impact. Consulting clients usually have a clear roadmap within the first two weeks and see measurable time savings within 30–60 days. The AI Audit delivers a full written report within 5 business days of the intake call.
I give vendor-neutral advice based on your specific business needs. Many of the tools I recommend have free tiers that are more than sufficient for small businesses getting started. Where paid tools are recommended, I'll always explain the cost, the alternative, and whether it's genuinely worth it for your situation. I have no commercial relationships with any AI tool vendors — my job is to recommend what's right for you, not what pays me a referral fee.
All workshop clients receive a resource pack, a set of prompt templates, and a 30-day action plan. For consulting clients, ongoing access is built into the engagement. For workshop-only clients who want continued support, I offer a monthly retainer option. I also produce regular free content through the Resources section of this site that clients are encouraged to use.
About working with me
Pricing varies based on the engagement type, team size, and scope. The AI Audit is fixed-fee and clearly priced. Workshop pricing is per session, with discounts for multi-session programmes. Consulting is available as a project-based or monthly retainer engagement. I'm transparent about pricing on the discovery call — there are no hidden fees, no locked-in contracts, and no pressure to commit to anything beyond what you've agreed to.
I work across a wide range of industries — professional services, retail, hospitality, property, healthcare, construction, creative services, and more. My approach is to understand your specific workflows and adapt the training accordingly. If you're unsure whether your industry is a good fit, book a free call and I'll tell you honestly.
Three things: context, structure, and accountability. YouTube tutorials are generic — they don't know your business, your team, or your workflows. I do. I tailor everything to your specific situation. Secondly, having a structured programme with someone guiding you means you actually implement things, rather than learning and forgetting. And thirdly, you get someone to ask questions to in real time — not just a video you have to pause and rewind.
In my experience, AI can add genuine value to almost any business — the question is where and how. That said, I won't recommend a service if I don't think it's the right fit. The AI Audit exists precisely to help you understand what's possible before committing to anything larger. If after an audit the honest answer is "this isn't the right moment for AI in your business", I'll say so.
